Rudd Estate Bacigalupi Chardonnay 2008
Oakville, Napa, CA  USA
Fruit from the vineyard that won the 1974 Paris Tasting.  Vines are now fully mature.  Perfectly stored, perfect fill, perfect bottle.

96 Wine Advocate - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, December 2010
From a 60-year-old vineyard planted on St.-Georges rootstock in the Goldridge soils on West Side Road in Russian River, only 600 cases are produced. The wine possesses terrific complexity and richness as well as abundant notes of leesy brioche intermixed with honeysuckle, white peaches, pineapples and orange blossoms. The complex aromatics are followed by a full-bodied, luscious wine displaying a superb texture and density as well as a long finish with a hint of minerality. David Abreu is the vineyard manager and Pat Sullivan is the winemaker, with consultation by Michel Rolland. Rudd's neighbors include such renowned estates as Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle and Plumpjack.
